Established in 1988, GuamTemps was the first staffing agency to open its doors on Guam. Locally owned and operated from our office in Tamuning, we've created jobs and added flexibility to Guam's labor market, supplying temporary, contract and direct-hire employees to local and internationally based private, public and non-profit employers throughout the Pacific.
Through economic shifts, military buildups and a changing workforce, our focus hasn't changed: matching the right people with the right opportunities, close to home, with honest service and ethical business practices.

How we started
From one trusted helper to Guam's first staffing agency
Our story begins in 1986, when our founder moved to Guam with family and began working as a legal secretary for law firms and attorneys across the island. A reputation for hard work, friendliness, honesty and quality work soon followed, and so did more requests for help than one person could handle.
In 1987, our founder took the time to find trusted people to help complete the work while keeping the same standard of quality and reliability. That effort grew into an effective process for finding the right people to get the job done, and in 1988 the company opened as Executive Typing and Employment Services, Guam's first staffing agency.
The company was renamed GuamTemps, Inc. in 2011. In 2012, the business continued to grow and develop new opportunities as it was passed down a second generation, to the founder's son, Tim Shepard.
The second generation
Tim Shepard and GuamTemps today
Born on Guam and raised in Seattle, Tim Shepard grew up around the family business. He studied at the University of Washington and went on to build more than 15 years of experience in human resources and staffing.
Before returning to the island, Tim worked at Amazon's corporate offices as an HR and recruiting business partner, and served as business development manager for the West Coast region at one of the world's largest staffing organizations. He holds the American Staffing Association's Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) credential.
Tim came home to GuamTemps full time as majority owner to put that experience to work for Guam. Since then he has grown the company with a focus on quality customer service and real staffing expertise for businesses on and off island, and has overseen staffing and workforce operations for client construction projects involving more than 150 temporary industrial workers.
